Micro Cable

It is a type of cable that is installed by air blowing method in a microduct. There are various types of Air Blowing Cables that can be applied according to the inner diameter of the micro duct, and 200/250um of outer sheath is also possible to be applied for materializing the multi cores of cables.

The cross sectional view of a micro cable may remind you of a traditional fiber cable but there are key differences. These cables still contain a central fiberglass strength member which maintains the shape and stiffness of the cable as well as providing a base around which the first ring of buffer tubes can be organized. Around the CSM you will find buffer tubes followed by an aramid yarn and a ripcord. Unlike most cables, there is no additional protection between the buffer tube and jacket. Because micro cables will be installed inside of a micro tube, they are protected by an external conduit and do not need their own built- in protection. This drastically reduces size and weight. As you can see the outer diameter of a 144 count air blown cable is only 6.9 millimeters.
